Sometimes I've found a 'not' useful in seeing what I may need to work on in breaking old patterns/habits.
(feel free to add to this)
Taking part in a circle is NOT
~ to interrupt
~ be interrupted
~ to give advice
~ to be given advice or feedback - unless I ask for it
~ to plan your next move
~ to plan your holiday
~ a coffee club ~ a space for gossip
~ a discussion/debate on any matter
~ to be right ~ or wrong/ better or worse than others, inside/outside the circle
~ to teach and preach
~ to sell anything
~ to make people understand you
~ to spread your worst fears/conspiracies ~ unless you want to work on how they affect you/what they'll teach you
~ to define yourself/your point of view
~ it's not a performance, a place to prove yourself worthy (we are ~ in our own right)
~ to tell your linear story/ to tell someone about yourself ~ unless it is related to the present and relevant for your process
~ to follow any social code of conversation/expression
~ you name it...
And then you can state the opposites.
